I usually do this by running pod2markdown on the POD, and then manually clean up the result. I also add a TOC (e.g. with doctoc) and manually clean that up as well e.g.:

I won't merge this as it only goes halfway towards that (and it also appears to have become tangled with my last commit). But thanks for the prompt!
